Presented by Will Richardson, this session challenged our traditional thinking about education, shared how connected educators are beginning to change their classroom practice, and provided a plan for rethinking how we teach our students, and the consequences if we don’t.

Presented by Dr. Elizabeth Berquist, this keynote introduced the UDL framework and highlighted resources that can assist educators as they seek to apply the principles of UDL in their instruction.

 

2013 Institute

 

"Explore the Possibilities: Determining Reading Accommodations to Support Access to the General Curriculum"

Presented by Dr. Denise DeCoste this general session helped participants understand how to effectively implement reading accommodations for all learners across grade-levels and content areas.

 

"Explore the Possibilities: Grading Exceptional and Struggling Learners"

Presented by Dr. Lee Ann Jung this general session dispelled many grading mythsand provided solutions for effective grading practices for all learners.

 

"Worksheets Don’t Grow Dendrites: 20 Instructional Strategies that Engage the Brain"

Presented by Dr. Marcia Tate this general session was an amazing session packed with instructional strategies for any content at any grade-level. These strategies are sure to reach all learners!

 

2012 Institute

 

“Trends, Tools and Tactics for 21st Century Learning”

Presented by Kevin Honeycutt this general session was a fun look at the exciting things that happen when educators step outside their boxes and try new tools.

 

“The Power of ICU: The End of Student Apathy, Reviving Engagement and Responsibility”

Presented by Dr. Jayson Nave and Danny Hill. The “Power of the ICU” will change your classroom and defeat student apathy!

 

“Access to the Curriculum through Co-Teaching: Do This, Don’t Do That!”

Marilyn Friend shared effective practices that will serve to increase the instructional intensity in any co-teach classroom.
